Today we're announcing something new!
We're running a contest on our Instagram page — and the prize is a single recorded at Electric Platypus, completely on us.
Here's how to enter:
Follow @electricplatypus.studio on Instagram
Record a video of yourself performing an original song — solo acoustic, full band, anything in between.
Post it, tag @electricplatypus.studio, and include the hashtag #SingleDaySingles
Submissions close at 11:59 PM on August 14th, 2026.
The prize: A full 8–10 hour recording day at Electric Platypus, followed by a separate mixing and mastering session to make your song release-ready. You walk away with a finished single.
The honest reason we're doing this: we want to meet more musicians. Electric Platypus has been up here in Round Rock for a few years now, and we'd love to connect with artists we might not have crossed paths with otherwise. Maybe that's you!
