Single Day Singles

1. Sponsor

The Single Day Singles Contest (the "Contest") is sponsored by Electric Platypus, located in the greater Austin, Texas area ("Sponsor"). For questions, contact: travis@electricplatypus.com.

2. Eligibility

The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Electric Platypus, their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling), and persons living in the same household as such employees are not eligible to enter. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Void where prohibited.

3. Contest Period

The Contest begins at 12:00 AM Central Time (CT) on July 6th, 2026 and ends at 11:59 PM CT on August 14th, 2026 (the "Contest Period"). Sponsor's computer is the official time-keeping device for this Contest.

4. How to Enter

To enter, during the Contest Period you must:

(a) Have or create a public Instagram account;
(b) Follow @electricplatypus.studio on Instagram;
(c) Post a video of yourself or your band performing original music to your public Instagram feed or Reels;
(d) Tag @electricplatypus.studio in the post; and
(e) Include the hashtag #SingleDaySingles in the caption.

By entering, entrants confirm that the entry video is their own original performance and that they hold all necessary rights to the music performed.

Entries submitted via any method not specified above will not be accepted. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, unintelligible, or misdirected entries.

5. Content Guidelines

Entry videos must:

(a) Feature the entrant performing original music (covers of copyrighted material are not eligible);
(b) Entries containing hate speech or content promoting illegal activity will be disqualified;
(c) Remain publicly visible on Instagram for the duration of the Contest Period and through the winner announcement;
(d) Not include third-party trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material without written permission.

6. Selection of Winner

The winner will be selected on or around August 17th. Sponsor's engineer/producer (Travis Hanna) will review all eligible entries and select the winner based on performance quality, originality, and overall presentation. All decisions by Sponsor are final and binding.

7. Prize

One (1) Grand Prize: One (1) full day (approximately 8-10 hours) of studio recording time at Electric Platypus, plus a subsequent mixing and mastering session for one (1) single ("Prize"). The recording session and the mixing and mastering session will take place on separate dates. All sessions must be scheduled and completed within six (6) months of winner notification. Session scheduling is subject to studio availability and must be mutually agreed upon by winner and Sponsor.

The approximate retail value ("ARV") of the Prize is $800. The Prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and has no cash equivalent. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the specified prize becomes unavailable.

Winner is solely responsible for any and all federal, state, and local taxes on the Prize value. Sponsor will issue an IRS Form 1099 if required by law.

8. Winner Notification

The potential winner will be notified via Instagram direct message (DM) within two (2) business days of selection. The potential winner must respond within five (5) business days of notification. Failure to respond within the specified time period may result in forfeiture of the Prize and selection of an alternate winner.

9. Conditions of Participation

By entering, each entrant agrees:

(a) To be bound by these Official Rules and Sponsor's decisions, which are final and binding;
(b) To release and hold harmless Sponsor, Instagram (Meta Platforms, Inc.), and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any liability arising out of participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of any prize;
(c) That Sponsor may use entrant's name, username, likeness, and entry video for promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law;
(d) That the entry is the entrant's own original work and does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.

10. Instagram Disclaimer

This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram (Meta Platforms, Inc.). By entering, each entrant acknowledges that they are providing their information to Sponsor and not to Instagram. Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to Sponsor, not to Instagram.

11. Privacy

Personal information collected in connection with this Contest will be used only to administer the Contest and will not be sold or transferred to third parties without consent, except as required by law. Contact travis@electricplatypus.com for more information.

12. General Conditions

Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process or acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

13. Winners List

To obtain the name of the winner, send an email to travis@electricplatypus.com with "Single Day Singles Winner" in the subject line within 60 days after the Contest Period ends.
